WacoWet Network revitalise its activities

The regional initiative of the Network of West Africa coastal and marine Wetlands (WacoWet) held a meeting from 23 to 25 July 2019 at the Banc d’Arguin National Park (PNBA) to give a new momentum to its activities. At the end of the meeting, participants adopted a resolution strengthening the Network’s governing bodies, appointing new members, and recognizing the PRCM as a strategic partner with which a partnership convention will be signed on the institutional anchorage of WacoWet until Ramsar COP 14.

The WacoWet Initiative is a partnership platform gathering organised stakeholders with an interest in the conservation and rational management of wetlands ecosystems along the West Africa coast stretching from Mauritania to Nigeria. The Initiative operates under the umbrella of the Ramsar Convention.
